Refund Policy

1. General Policy — Delivered Digital Goods Are Final
All purchases of SimpleBeacon products, services, license tokens, and digital deliverables are final and non-refundable once delivered. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge that you are buying a digital service that is consumed immediately upon delivery. This policy applies to all tiers:
- Complimentary AI Slop Audit — provided at no cost; no refunds applicable
- Executive Risk Certificate ($499) — token and certificate generated instantly; consumed upon delivery
- EU AI Act Readiness Sprint ($2,499) — license token activated and sprint materials delivered immediately
- Continuous Shield ($1,499/mo) — subscription billed in advance; no prorated or partial refunds for consumed periods
- Instant Website Report ($19) — generated and delivered in real-time; consumed upon download
These are irrevocable digital goods. Once a license token is issued or a report is generated, the service has been fully rendered and cannot be returned, revoked, or rescinded.
2. What Is Not Eligible for Refund
The following circumstances do not constitute grounds for a refund:
- You changed your mind, no longer need the service, or found a cheaper alternative
- You did not understand what the product does before purchasing
- The scan surfaced findings you disagree with, dispute, or find uncomfortable
- You purchased the wrong tier and want to "downgrade" after delivery
- You failed to use the license token before it expired
- You lost access to your email, password, or account credentials
- You claim the service was "not as described" after receiving and consuming the deliverable
- You are dissatisfied with the severity grade, quality score, or gate verdict assigned by the deterministic scanner
- You mistakenly purchased multiple distinct licenses or tiers that you later decide you do not need
3. Exception — Confirmed Non-Delivery or Critical System Failure
If you paid for a deliverable and never received it due to a technical failure on our side, you may request a refund within 7 days of purchase. To help us verify the issue, please include:
- Your Stripe charge ID or receipt email
- The approximate time of purchase
- A description of what happened (e.g., payment succeeded but no token was displayed, no email received, or the certificate page returned an error)
We will review our delivery logs and payment records. If we confirm that no deliverable was generated, transmitted, or made available to you due to a system error on our part, we will issue a full refund to your original payment method within 10 business days. If partial delivery occurred (e.g., token was issued but email failed), we may offer a replacement or store credit at our discretion.
This exception does not cover delivery failures caused by your ISP, browser settings, firewall, VPN, spam filters, or incorrect email address.
4. Duplicate and Erroneous Charges
If you were charged multiple times for the same purchase due to a payment processing error (not user error), contact us within 7 days with your charge IDs. Verified duplicate charges will be refunded in full to your original payment method.
5. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
We encourage you to contact us directly before filing a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank. Most issues can be resolved faster through direct communication.
If you do initiate a dispute without first contacting us:
- We will provide your payment processor with evidence of service delivery, license token activation, and consumption records where applicable
- We may suspend your account and revoke active license tokens pending resolution of the dispute
- We reserve the right to permanently terminate accounts and block future purchases for users who initiate bad-faith chargebacks
6. Cancellation vs. Refund
You may cancel a Continuous Shield subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future billing only. You will not receive a refund for any current or prior billing period. Access continues until the end of the paid period, after which all tokens, certificates, and dashboard access are revoked.
Cancellation of an Annual Protection Pack or Enterprise Contract does not entitle you to any refund, credit, or proration for unused quarters, months, or days.
7. Enterprise Contracts
Enterprise contracts ($50,000+ annual) are governed by individually negotiated master service agreements. Unless your MSA explicitly contains a refund clause, all payments are non-refundable and non-creditable.
8. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or limit any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction. If a court or regulator determines that a provision of this policy is unenforceable, the remainder of the policy will continue in effect.
